‘Freak’ to affect millions of users
‘Freak’ to affect millions of users: Microsoft confirmed that Windows was vulnerable to ‘Freak’ attacks that could let attackers spy on supposedly secure communications.
Freak, affects the widely used Secure Sockets Layer protocol and its successor, Transport Layer Security, and can allow an attacker to intercept supposedly encrypted traffic as it moves between clients and servers.
Apple is expected to produce a patch for the flaw next week and Google has updated its version of Chrome for the Mac to remove its susceptibility to Freak. It has not yet confirmed what action it is taking with Android.
