Apple CarPlay to come up in ‘every major car brand’: CarPlay, Apple's iOS-based infotainment system will be incorporated into 40 new car models made by major automotive manufacturers in 2015.


Apple's Tim Cook made the announcement on Monday at its Spring Forward event in San Francisco, one year after the announcement of the software. No further details, such as timing, or which auto models would feature CarPlay were revealed. Two of the current supporting automakers are supercar companies, Ferrari and Koenigsegg.

CarPlay was designed to give drivers a “smarter, safer, and more fun” way to use iPhones in cars.
